On August 31, 2009, on the southwest side of Chicago, Dr. Antonio Morales-Pita spoke to English as a Second Language (ESL) Sudents about the importance of determination, a will to succeed, and most importantly, tenacity is the process of learning and life in general. Through this interactive discussion, he hopes to inspire the ESL students to succeed in their pursuit of learning the English language. Afterwards, Dr. Morales-Pita signed copies of his book, Havana-Mérida-Chicago (A Journey to Freedom), purchased by attendees.
On January 27, 2010, Dr. Morales-Pita spoke to members of the NSHMBA Chicago Chapter about the Emerging Economies and their roles in the world economy, as well as the repercussions of the US recession on the world economy. After the lecture and Q & A Session, Dr. Morales-Pita sold and signed copies of his book Havana-Mérida-Chicago (A Journey to Freedom), purchased by attendees.
